Women 4 Women (W4W) is a student organization at the Mailman School of Public Health which I discovered during my first semester in the MPH program. W4W's mission is to "improve women’s health and status through empowering girls / women in healthcare, education, politics, and relationships." After attending on-campus W4W events, and speaking with founding members about what led them to create this group, I excitedly applied to join the W4W executive board. I was delighted to join the team in 2019, in the role of Director of Communications. Not only was this a wonderful opportunity to connect with fellow students who were passionate about empowering individuals who identify as women around our school and the surrounding community, but it was also a chance for me to engage with the Mailman community in a more active and impactful manner.

During my time on the W4W E-board, I was also able to sharpen my social media and design skills, as I worked towards developing Women 4 Women as a women’s health advocacy brand on campus and in the surrounding community. In this effort, I managed the social media accounts for W4W, which led to more than 50 new Instagram followers in the first month and an increase in overall engagement with the student body. I exercised my creative muscles by designing promotional material for various programming efforts. Our largest annual event was the International Women's Day celebration, which brought together several student organizations for a collaborative and educational morning. During the event, on behalf of W4W, I undertook an "Instagram takeover" of the official Mailman school instagram page - updates from the event garnered more than a thousand views, as the Mailman community tuned in to stay updated on the celebrations.

I have loved watching W4W grow from strength to strength, as the new e-board continues to engage the Mailman community virtually. Please visit the W4W instagram page here for more information.
